To put into cotext of how bad the SMT flight model is right now I just 1v1ed a friend right now in F-4E vs mig-29SMT both aced, min fuel, max crew level, and fully spaded. F-4E won almost every single fight wether both planes were carrying missiles or not. Its kinda sad what they did to the mig-29 FM.
While both the Eurofighter Typhoon and the Su-35 are advanced fighter jets, they have several key differences. The Typhoon was designed by a consortium of European nations, while the Su-35 is a Russian design. As a result, the Typhoon has a more western layout and feel, while the Su-35 has a more eastern layout and feel.
Thatnks for this awesome comparison, and good work on the models! It's always struck me as interesting how similar in outline the Mig-29 and SU-33 are. Apart from the canards and the curve of the forward part of the wings, I'd have trouble distinguishing one from the other in flight. But the SU-33 is so huge!
However, the MiG-29K carries more air-to-ground munitions than the Su-33. The Su-33 is more expensive and physically larger than the MiG-29K, limiting the numbers able to be deployed on an aircraft carrier. The Su-33 carries guided missiles such as the R-73 (four) and R-27E (six) on twelve hard points, supplemented by the 150-round 30 mm GSh-30-1.
While Frontal Aviation MiG-29 and Su-27S fighters were to win the air battle, allowing the less agile Su-24, Su-17, MiG-23BM and MiG-27 to survive and attack their targets, it was evident to Soviet planners that replacements for these strike aircraft would need to be capable of surviving close contact with the F-16 and especially the F-15.
Even in its original form, the cost of a basic MiG-29 was 80% that of the Su-27 Flanker. The difference in operating costs between the two fighters was also similar.

The MiG-29K can spend as much time as the Su-33 on station by using external fuel tanks, but this limits its ordnance capacity. The Su-33 can fly at speeds as low as 240 km/h (150 mph), in comparison the MiG-29K needs to maintain a minimum of 250 km/h (160 mph) for effective control.
R-77 is active radar missile. R-27R's or ER's are SARH missile. the rest are infared. R-77 range is 40-50km effective although its possible perhaps to hit something at greater distance. R-27 range is 70km effective, generally has more legs then the R-77 and amraam but not by much.

The MiG-29K platform was notably meant to replace the Russian Navy’s fleet of Su-33 Flanker-D airframes, despite the fact the latter featured a much higher operating range and maneuverability

The Su-27/33 are considered air superiority aircraft whereas the Mig-29 is more of an interceptor. Each are extremely capable in the dogfight arena. The Mig will play the rate game much like the F-16, keeping speed somewhere between 700-750 kph.
The F-15 actually has many, many, advantages over the Ruskies and you can probably count the advantages of the MiG-29 or Su-27 on one hand. In a knife fight the ruskies will probably win if they know what they are doing. They have good IR guided missiles and the MiG-29 is very good at recovering energy (while it still has fuel left). Based on MiG-29 9-12, export MiG-29A and MiG-29B modification were developed with reduced avionics, without the ability of delivering nuclear bombs. The Mig-29 was first seen during the visit to Finland in July, 1986. In September 1988, MiG-29 was introduced for the first time at the international airshow in Farnborough. Russia, Ukraine and India operate the majority of all MiG-29s ever made. The MiG-29 reaches a maximum speed of about 1,500 mph, which is above Mach 2. This won’t be the last Russian aircraft that lands on the list of most expensive fighter jets. MiG-29 Cost: $23.8 million. 24. $25.1 million – MiG-21 sxim.
