Most of the start/stop systems will not work if: - The motor temperature is below 90 degree (or other normal running temperature) - The out door temperature is below 5 or above 30 degrees. - The Aircon is using to much current. - The aircon blower is on 3 or higher. - The seatbelt on the driverside is not buckled.
IMHO a stop/start system is more of a bonus than a must have feature. For most of my driving the start/stop would never kick in as the traffic I get stuck in is either at the start of the journey or on a hill. The foot brake is very sensitive. Try turning OFF the start/stop and when you pull up at lights, with the foot brake "semi" depressed (i.e. enough to hold the car) you will see the revs at 1,000rpm. If you press the pedal harder, the revs drop off further. With the stop/start ON, the engine will start at the 1000rpm mark without pulling away.

You cant press it and you need to turn on and off the CLIMATRONIC turning the fan speed control. Well its look like the feature is hidden on the Skoda Control. The Fabia I have with keyless start and DSG took some time getting used to because if I keep the foot on the brake when I put the gear in P the engine usually stops and when I press the button to turn the car off it starts. It is solved by lifting the foot off the brake before pressing the start/stop button.
